Hey guys!
If you hadn't noticed I am clearly excited to be telling you about this!!!! AAAAHHHH, as you all know I have just come back to running because of my injury, but I was able to run at conference this week!! I was starting out the day like oh I'm just going to run normally just for the experience, but once I got out there and was going, I just went for it!!! It was awesome...my breathing was hilarious though because I'm literally allergic to nature. After, I got done my coach grabbed me and I was like I'm going to pass out. Then, I realized oh wow I PRed(new personal record), and yes this is new and not my first because I have ran in girls on the run races before. I broke 26:30 (my past fastest time), and ended up running 25:50 I think(for a 5k or 3.1 miles). The top 15 in each division placed, and all of our freshman that ran in the freshman race placed, with me placing 8th. Also, our overall freshman team placed 2nd, so that was pretty cool!! It was amazing!! Comment below anything good from your weekend!! Hey guys!
I should start with happy fall, since it finally feels like it outside. I'm super excited for this fall because I think I'm going to go buy some new cute clothes...haha nope I hate shopping! Anyways, today we are going apple picking with my mom's family, so that should be fun!! I will try to remember to post some pictures for all of you to see before Tuesday!! Moving on to my running, yesterday I PRed(new personal record) for 4 miles, 35 minutes!! I'm literally so happy about it because I have been injured for so long, and this is my first full week back! In fact, I may be running next weekend in the cross country meet!! I will update you all when I know for sure on that! Comment below your favorite thing about fall! This particular section of the mobile journalism course in itunes U was probably more challenging, but helped me grow as a student. This was due to having to actually ask for help, which I often do not do because I find it a bit embarrassing to be struggling. Also, coming up with what to film for me was hard because I do not have a lot of access to things I enjoy doing. For example, my first idea was to film a pediatric doctor, but the problem was getting two subjects because of patient doctor confidentiality(I wouldn't have been able to film the doctor doing part of their job). Then, my second idea was to film my mom doing work as a social worker, but again the problem is she works with children, and provides confidentiality for what she does too. Finally, I decided to interview the Ladue Mens Cross Country Team. It was something I not only had access to, but knew a little bit about and was interested in, so I set out to figure out my subjects. I chose Assistant Coach, Mark Spewalk, and Junior runner, Aramis Rickey. Though, Aramis did not agree, so I changed subjects to another very compassionate runner, Clark Kittner. When it came to filming, parts of it were harder than others. For instance, the spaces where the boys often hang out together to talk, and do core workouts are small and not very suitable for filming. Another problem was filming them running because I couldn't go run with them on a trail to film them because I was not allowed to interfere with their actual practices. Other than that, it was a lot of fun, and it taught me a lot about how to talk to people during an interview, and on how to plan for an interview so you don't forget anything you need to film while you're there.
Hey guys! Guess what! On Monday Kate and I saw Taylor Swift in concert here in St.Louis!! It was so awesome. We actually have traditions from past Taylor Swift concerts that we do. We always go to the Old Spaghetti Factory, take a picture in the same chair there, and pictures in front of there. We also always make a poster together, and take our picture in front of her tour buses. Down below I will share with you some of the pictures! Comment below if you're a Swiftie!! Hey guys!
I helped at bridal shower for Kate's cousin over the weekend. It was literally the cutest thing ever. There was homemade body scrubs, and you could make your own caramel apples. It was a lot of fun, and Kate and I helped make the actual scrubs Hey guys!
To be honest I loved the actual getting ready for Homecoming. I surprisingly wore makeup...that never happens haha. I got to go to my friend's,Sarah, house, which was really fun. We took pictures at her house and went to dinner. Though, I actually got ready at my own house with my friend, Kate. She is only in 8th grade though, so she didn't go. Comment below if you're excited for your own homecoming! |
